Meet our band
The Caledonian Highlanders Pipe & Drum Band is made up of musicians from all walks of life who share a love for bagpipes, drums, and having a good time. We meet weekly to practice, prepare for performances, and help new members learn.
You don’t need experience to join, just enthusiasm! We offer one-on-one instruction and use proven tools to teach both pipes and drums. Once new members are performance-ready, we provide them with a uniform and welcome them into the band.

Our History
The Caledonian Highlanders Pipes and Drums Band has been sharing the music of Scotland and Ireland since 1969. We were founded by Lee Adelsberg, who served as Pipe Major and our band historian before his passing in 2025.

Today, we’re based in Chemung County, New York. Our members come from all kinds of backgrounds, we’re all volunteers who love bagpipe and drum music. Whether we’ve been playing for less than a year or over 50, we come together to entertain, have fun, and keep the tradition alive.
Over the years, we’ve performed everywhere from local parades and festivals to big events like the NYC Tartan Day Parade and the Annual Robert Burns dinner. Wherever we play, we’re proud to share the music we love.
